Manhattan Arts Center provides high-quality arts education experiences to Manhattan area youth. This past year has been no exception, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Youth have been able to participate in socially distanced camps, violin lessons, and online classes. Prior to the initial shutdown, students were benefiting from the many in-person classes and programs offered by MAC as well. Many of the students who attend MAC classes and participate in their various programs do so because of the scholarships that MAC provides.
A quote from one MAC parent showcases the service that they are providing the community through teaching practical skills and instilling a sense of pride and confidence in their students: “I think violin is helping my daughter feel better about herself. She can actually say she’s proud of herself when talking about the violin, and she is getting used to applause. :)”
