The Boys and Girls Club provides Manhattan youth with a safe and positive environment. While this year has looked a bit different for many due to COVID-19, they continued to serve local youth through “At Home Activity Kits” that were available throughout the closure. The kits had items like at home science experiments that allowed youth to continue valuable learning experiences while at home. Once the school year went virtual, they were also able to offer the “Hotline Ring Homework Helpline” which allowed students to call in with any homework questions that they had. Along with other virtual offerings, this allowed the Boys and Girls Club to continue making a positive difference in the lives of many young people. In addition to the work that they did during the shutdown, they were also able to offer many opportunities during the past year by way of art projects, healthy eating initiatives, and much, much more.
